Sunflower Project NYC
Ground Zero Cut Flower Planting
Eve of the Anniversary 9/10/2002

On the eve of the one year anniversary, a SFPNYC posse of about 30 people descended on Ground Zero with a van filled with nearly 400 cut sunflowers. These blooms were tied in pairs with ribbons and notes, encouraging people to take them on the anniversary. The posse "planted" the Ground Zero area with these blooms, covering every street corner lampost, planter, fence and gate in a six block radius of the site. On the day of the anniversary, sunflowers were everywhere.
